A rainy spectacle was set upon Madeon’s performance in San Diego at The Rady Shell, where the French electronic producer brought his latest album, Victory, to life through an immersive live production. Madeon blasts off with “Hi!,” the opening track from his new album, serving as an introduction to the world he had built for the show. From there, the set unfolded into a wonderfully crafted mash up of new material and distorted bassline reinterpretations of fan favorites. Madeon also brought out his remix of Ninajirachi’s “iPod Touch” delivering a special moment for San Diego’s electronic music community.

Madeon masterfully played with the crowd’s emotions. While building up the crescendo of “Miracle” he withholds the expected drop with a large “NO.” on screen. The crowd gasps, Hugo yells “Go!” and bursts into his vibrant, thermal infrared Good Faith-inspired explosion of color. Creating a euphoric moment that left the crowd captivated and hopeful during the rain.

The narrative builds toward an intense climax, keeping the audience invested in the outcome before Madeon ultimately claims victory. It’s a grandiose concept that transforms the concert into something closer to a live audiovisual experience than a traditional electronic set. For the closing stretch, “Molly Talk” Madeon’s recent collaboration with ISOxo, delivered a high energy finale that made for a fitting encore and a celebratory send off.

With Victory Live, Madeon once again builds on the visual identity and mythology established by his previous live projects, this latest chapter introduces its own distinct aesthetic while delivering the high level production fans have come to expect.

For fans of Madeon and immersive electronic live shows, Victory Live is an experience worth catching.
With the tour continuing through November, there are still opportunities to witness the spectacle firsthand.
