The Used at House of Blues San Diego - Night 1

On a quiet Tuesday, May 14th 2025, The Used kicked off their 3-day run at the House of Blues in San Diego. This band definitely holds a place in every emo kid's heart, so it’s no surprise that the the place was packed wall-to-wall on a Tuesday evening. A sea of black shirts, thick mascara, and eyeliner filled the room.
The excitement was palpable as people that grew up, listening to this very influential band, anxiously waited for them to take the stage. Fans sang almost every word in unison, like a back-up choir, to the Self-Titled EP from The Used. Which is no surprise since this 25th Anniversary Tour also happens to fall on The 20th Anniversary of the San Diego House of Blues. Of which sold out within minutes. The band spared no expense either, covering the stage in a red plush carpet, a foot drum riser, two side platforms, album backdrop, and a well programmed light show to match. Obviously they wanted to give the fans a show they won’t soon forget.
The Used sounded as good as ever playing the EP that jump started their rise to fame, a couple fun side pieces thrown in the mix. This was only night one of three, as The Usedl will return to House of Blues San Diego to play “In Love and Death”. I’m curious to see how the band will top the energy from night one!
